Christmas is all over, done and dusted for another year. We wish we could say the same for our turkey. We’ve got so much left over that we’ve had to start sprinkling it over our muesli every morning just to use it up. I blame Daughter Gifts. She waited until Christmas lunch to announce that she’d become a fruitarian. I threw the cranberry sauce at her and let her get on with it.
Anyway, we exchanged some lovely Christmas presents and Christmas gifts in the morning. Mr Gifts got me this super Me To You Bear Looking for Love figurine. Looking for love indeed, I thought. I once caught him looking at a dating website. Looking for floozies, more like. We’re back on track now though, so I got Mr Gifts a great present for him – this Mini Remote Control Speed Boat Inflatable Challenge.
Mr Gifts played the speed boat game nearly all day, leaving me free to enjoy the Queen’s speech over a mince pie and a bottle of meths… sorry, sherry. I mean sherry.

Well, well, well. Here at All Things Gifts, we cannot believe it. Just two days to go until the big 2-5 – the 25th December that is! We’re exhausted! That’s what comes of being the best place to get all of those Christmas gifts for her and Christmas presents for him.
We’ve been rushed off of our feet, and Mr Gifts has been little help this week. He put his back out placing the fairy on top of the All Things Gifts Christmas tree and has spent the past week getting sloshed on whisky in his favourite armchair whilst singing along with the carols on Radio 4.
If by any chance you’ve forgotten to buy somebody their Christmas present, then don’t worry. You can always give it to them a bit later on! Did you know that in Greece they don’t celebrate Christmas until January? So if you have any Greek friends, here are some great gift ideas for them!
This is cute: a NICI Polar Bear Photoclip/Photoholder. This industrious little polar bear will hold your favourite piccies. He is about three inches high, and is very cute and comes from the Nici polar bear 2008 collection. Snap him up before global warming gets him!
We also like this NICI 30cm Reindeer Lying Soft Toy. This reindeer is 30cm long and as you can see is having a nice lie down. If you’d delivered presents to boys and gifts to girls all around the world, you’d probably be having a nice lie down as well. I might get this for Mr Gifts, just to show him someone who knows what real hard work is!

Christmas Day is so close that we can practically taste the turkey! When the bird comes out of the oven and onto the Christmas table, we usually let Mr Gifts do the carving. Then we steal all of the best roast potatoes whilst he’s not looking. It’s ever so funny, although it’s probably best not to annoy Mr Gifts whilst he’s holding a carving knife.
This year at All Things Gifts we’re going to soften up the hubbie before the festivities commence with a lovely soft toy. Soft toys make wonderful Christmas presents for girls and boys of all ages. Here at All Things Gifts, we are practically exploding with excitement. We can actually count on four hands the number of days left until Christmas Day. Yippee! There is officially no time to mess around any more. Have you bought those Christmas presents for her and those Christmas gifts for him yet?
We are feeling particularly festive because we decorated our tree this weekend. Well, I say “we” – Mr Gifts put his back out trying to hang chocolate coins on our tree’s top branches. It was left to muggins here to climb the stepladder and sort out the fairy on top of the Christmas tree while Mr Gifts sat in the armchair moaning and uttering the odd swear word.

All Things Gifts made the mistake of going to London’s Oxford Street at the weekend. There were more people there than at Obama’s inauguration. It took us one hour to walk down to Tottenham Court Road (which normally takes ten minutes) and the crowds were at their most shovy and pushy. It was awful. We had to have a nap when we got home to recover and Mr Gifts gave us a foot massage.
The lesson is – if you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas and Christmas present ideas for him and her, don’t go to the shops! Stay in the comfort of your own home (and your own pyjamas) and do all of your gift shopping here with us. How many days is it until Christmas now? We don’t know! At All Things Gifts, we’re too excited about Christmas present ideas and Christmas gift ideas to spend time counting down to the big day! All Things Gifts had a bit of a disaster this morning. No, we didn’t forget Mr Gifts’ birthday. We are very good at remembering birthdays and anniversaries – of course we are! No, we spent over an hour looking for our house keys this morning. This made us very late for our appointment with the Toy Fairy, which is who we get all of our best toys and presents from for the site.
Luckily, we didn’t get into too much trouble, but this did make us think that we should organise ourselves a bit better, so we’re going to treat ourselves to one of our wonderful keyrings.
Keyrings make a great present for any occasion, especially as Christmas stocking fillers – yes, it’s time to start thinking about toys and gifts for the festive season! One of our newest keyring-shaped presents is this Mini Magic Sketch Keyring. This is a mini version of everybody’s favourite drawing toy. Just twiddle the knobs to draw a pretty picture and shake it to clear the screen. Perhaps you could draw a picture of your keys on the screen, just to be all clever and ironic.

There’s no time like the present and there’s no present like the time. That’s what Groucho Marx said, anyway. Do you think anybody got him a clock for his birthday? Mind you, with his charming habit of making quips at every opportunity, do you think he actually had any friends to buy him a birthday present?
Groucho would have loved this weekend – it’s when the clocks go back. There you go, Groucho. There is a present like the time, because we’re all going to get an extra hour in bed. Yippee!

We love a good dance here at All Things Gifts. The cha cha cha, the rumba, the tango – even the ooh la la and the zut alors! If music is a gift, then dancing is a present, and one we’ll unwrap with gusto.
In last week’s blog we talked about X Factor – it’s marvellous, isn’t it, even with those talentless twins messing up the stage. So this week we turn our toe-tapping attention to Strictly Come Dancing. Isn’t Brucie amazing for his age? What would you get him for his birthday though? Here at All Things Gifts we’re still mopping up our tears from a huge emotional rollercoaster of a weekend. No, we didn’t go to a family wedding – we watched the most heartrending episodes of X Factor yet, as the contestants went abroad with the judges for selection (or not) to the live shows.
The good bit was getting to see the judges’ luxury houses. All Things Gifts might actually audition next year so that we can snuggle up to Simon Cowell on his Hollywood sofa. Until then, we can all get a touch of some of that glitzy action thanks to the superstaresque items we’ve got for you this week.
